online casino

And I thought that things would be getting better for online casinos. Apparently, I didn’t see far enough. I am sure you have heard of Kentucky’s bid to seize all domain names being used by online casino operators. I think I even wrote about it one time.
Anyhow, due to this move, Microgaming has decided to pull out – totally – from the US market! New Online Casinos has this report:
Microgaming held on for a long time. They were accepting US online casino players all the way up until the point that the state of Kentucky tried to seize online casino domain names. That is when Microgaming made the decision to pull out.
All of the casinos that were being powered by Microgaming were ordered to stop accepting new US customers. The move is only a couple of months old, but already US players are feeling the effects.
So what are the implications of this decision? For one, US players are totally excluded from the prize pool that Microgaming has to offer. And before you dismiss it, let me point out that their prize pool exceeds $7 million! That is a LOT of money to be won! And because a state decided to take domain names. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
As big as this figure may be, there is really not much that we can do at the moment except hope that things might take a turn for the better pretty soon. In the meantime, we do have options such as Real Time Gaming, which still has a prize pool of somewhere in the millions.
