New Pittsburgh Casino Opens On August 9

Pittsburgh residents and those who live around the area, the first part of August is sure to be exciting for you guys! The news is that a new casino is going to open on the 9th of August!!!

Located in downtown Pittsburgh and Mt. Washington, the Rivers Casino will be opening up its 3,000 slot machines in about a week. Never mind that the ballroom will not be open. Neither will the sports bar. But who cares? That many slot machines will be enough to attract the crowds, I am pretty sure.

The slot machines aren’t the only features that are bound to attract people to the new casino. From what I hear, it has nine restaurants and bars. The façade of the building is glass and overlooks the Ohio River – definitely offering an astounding view. There is also an outside amphitheatre which is located between the casino and the river. It can seat 1,200. For the grand opening, the amphitheatre will be the venue for a concert featuring Motown band Rare Earth PLUS fireworks.

Other distinctive features of the casino:

The casino boasts the first virtual roulette game in Pennsylvania, along with the state’s only $500 slot machine, Fasulo said. About 1,200 slots are one- and two-penny machines. The business eventually could have 5,000 slot machines or add table games if the state allows it, Fasulo said.

The restaurants, with seating for 1,100 diners, will offer pizza, hoagies and wings as well as European-style bistro fare and an upscale menu at Andrew’s. The all-you-can-eat Grand View Buffet overlooking the river will be priced at about $15 for lunch and $25 for dinner and will offer barbecue, Asian, Mongolian, American and Italian fare.

I don’t know about you, but this casino sounds really good, huh?
