Colorado Casinos On A Roll

And who said that casinos are feeling the pinch of the times? Well, to be fair to them, there are indeed many casinos all over the United States – and even in other countries – which are not doing so well because of the economic status of the world. In Golden, Colorado, however, it seems that everything is still glittering – and yes, it is the real thing!

CBS4 Denver recently reported that the gambling industry in the state that is proving to be somehow recession-proof. The story goes:

Several hundred people went to Golden Wednesday afternoon looking for casino jobs.

Golden Gaming, based out of Las Vegas, has three casino properties in Black Hawk. They’re planning to hire 40 to 50 dealers to handle the increased action they are expecting when the higher gambling limits begin in July.

“We’re going to hire 40 to 50 dealers to bring on and train beginning this month of March, and then down the road we’ll hire some security and housekeeping positions as well,” said Christopher Abraham with Golden Gaming Marketing.

Golden Gaming will add two craps tables, one roulette table, and six-to-eight blackjack tables now that Colorado voters have raised the previous $5 gambling limit to $100. The pay is for the most part minimum wage, but the real money comes from tips.

While I am sure that there will be people who will have something negative to say about this piece of news, I also know that the people finding jobs in the casinos will totally disagree. And while they may be getting paid minimum wage, they will still get a good sum due to tips! Good for them!
