Collecting Vintage Casino Poker Chips

One of the best things about playing poker in a real live casino is to see, feel, and hear those chips throughout the whole game.  Of course, in online casinos, you can have a similar experience with the excellent graphics and sounds available these days but there is nothing like the real thing sometimes.  Another hobby that many casino lovers have picked up along the years is to collect vintage or collectible casino poker chips.  While they may not use these chips on a regular basis – if they even do at all – the mere fact that they are part of one’s collection is already a big deal.  How can you start your own collection?

One idea would be to look it up on the Internet. There are many people who sell collectors poker chips online.  You can try the tested eBay.  Alternatively, you can look on Craigslist.  For sure, one of these days, you will stumble upon a good set of vintage poker chips online.

Another way to look for vintage poker chips would be to visit your local secondhand store. Even Goodwill might be holding a good find!  What you should do is pinpoint thrift shops in your area – and the surrounding areas – and make it a point to visit every now and then.  You might even want to befriend the salespeople and let them know to get hold of you if they spot chips coming in.

Last, but definitely not the least, be a regular in flea markets. The principle is the same as looking in thrift shops.  Many a collectible item has been found in flea markets.  In fact, this probably gives you the highest chance of finding that rare poker chip set that you have been looking for.

Happy hunting!
