Casinos Looking Favorably At Online Gambling

Online gambling enthusiasts should be happy with this latest development – “real life” casinos are actually leaning towards the idea of legalized online gambling! After President Bush signed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act and made it official, a lot of people who engaged in online gambling were affected. Online gaming companies also felt the crunch and had to find ways to stay afloat.
As we start a new year, it seems that things are looking up for online gambling! Las Vegas Now has this story:
Online gambling sites offer the same variety of games that most Strip casinos do — from sports betting, to poker and even bingo. But current laws keep online gambling out of the U.S., something that many casinos supported. But some are now seeing it as an opportunity.
“Basically people are allowed to gamble but they don’t have any of the protections they would get from legal gaming,” said David Schwartz with UNLV’s Center for Gaming Research.
“Having legal online gaming would really help the Strip casinos with their marketing. It would help them find out who is gambling out there,” said Schwartz.
However, this does not mean that everyone is all for it. After all, there are still a lot of people who would rather go to a live casino to play at the tables than to sit in front of their computer. For those who are into online gambling, though, legalized online gambling in the United States is something to look forward to.
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
