Casino Traps: Beware

There is no denying that playing at casinos can be fun. In fact, it can be so much fun that there are times when you might lose your more sensible side. Before going to any casino, it is best that you become aware of the “traps” that might lure you into throwing caution to the wind.

What time is it?
Some casinos, if you haven’t noticed, have no clocks on the walls. This might be a simple oversight but then again, it might not. Think about it. If you do not watch the time, you would have no way of knowing exactly how long you’ve been playing. The longer you play, the more money you will end up spending – especially if you have more losing streaks than winning streaks. My suggestion is that you wear a wristwatch and time yourself. When you’ve been playing for your self-imposed time limit, call it quits.

Slooow down!
Casinos are as fast-paced as you can get. Dealers deal as fast as they can. Bets are made quickly. People speak at an astonishing rate (try to observe, you will notice just how fast the dealers speak!). If you get caught up in the pace, you might not be able to make the right moves. Slow down. Don’t feel rushed. Make sure that you are making the right move and increase your chances of winning.

Abstinence might do you good.

I have said it before and I will say it again: alcohol and gambling do not mix. You might have more fun if you are tipsy BUT this might mean that you are on your way to loser-ville. Keep a clear head and stay away from those free drinks!
