I don’t go to casinos for the booze, but hey, a little alcohol can be fun. As a general rule, however, I would much rather not drink while gambling. If you have read my previous posts, you would see that I am a firm believer in having all your wits about you when gambling. Otherwise, you just stand to lose more than you might normally would. Still, a lot of people drink up when they are in casinos.
Anyhow, this Atlantic City casino was fined something fierce for mislabeling their beer. The Associated Press has the dish:
Ever wonder what the difference is between “tastes great” and “less filling?” In one Atlantic City casino, it’s $5,000. That’s how much the New Jersey Casino Control Commission fined Resorts Atlantic City on Wednesday for having mislabeled beer keg taps at one casino bar on two occasions last year.
In March, one tap was labeled “Miller Lite” and another one “Miller Genuine Draft.” But both taps were connected to a keg containing the light beer.
Regulators say a similar situation in August occurred in which taps labeled “Coors Original” and “Coors Light” were both dispensing the full-calorie, full-carb brew.
Resorts declined to comment.
I think it is quite amusing, how this thing turned out. First thought: any decent beer drinker would have detected the difference in taste. If I had been looking forward to a mug of Miller Genuine Draft (which I never would, by the way) and got a mug of Miller Lite (now that, I would want), I would definitely know there was something wrong! Next time you get a beer at a casino, make sure you do a taste test!
Now THIS is great gaming news! What do I do now?
