Gambling and casinos have never been considered to be on the right side of morality. The same thing could be said of Vegas – Sin City, remember? In this unique world where morality is very much relative, however, they still have their own set of codes. One of them is that sex and gambling do not mix.
It seems that this code is soon to disappear into thin air, though. With the current economic crisis that is being felt all over the world, Las Vegas has not been able to escape totally unscathed. In fact, casino bosses have been trying to find ways to be able to continue their operations and to continue making money.
So what is happening down there? One of the first indications of this paradigm shift: a small strip club has applied for a license to run slot machines. Another indication: topless pools where female strippers bask under the sun. The second is tending to be more popular as even the big casinos are starting to open adult only pools featuring these women. In fact, Mandalay Bay and Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino have gone down this road. The news is that these casinos have struck a deal with the strip club owners. The girls go to the adult only pools in the hopes of attracting more customers for the casinos (guests have to pay to gain access to the pool area) and at the same time, the girls promote the strip club which they work for. Fair enough exchange, huh?
