More Perks For Casino Goers

Some time ago, I wrote about the fact that comps are getting harder and harder to come by. The reason is, quite understandably, the hard economic times that are affecting even the casino industry. The rationale of some casino execs is that they want to focus on the high-end players who “deserve” the comps more. Naturally, this kind of thinking is depressing for the average casino player. Where did all the comps go?

Well here is a better bit of news for you. Over at Arizona, the management of different casinos are adding more perks to attract people to frequent their establishments. Though the perks may not exactly be the same as the comps that we have gotten used to, they still have an attraction of their own.

So what are the perks that they are talking about? Some examples include loyalty cards – with better perks (undisclosed as of this writing), new restaurants, more free bus ride programs (save on gas, don’t bring your own car), and more. As you can see, the idea is to expand the idea of what a casino is. According to Jon Jenkins, president and chief executive officer of Casino Arizona, “the expansion will help our transition from a club brand to a resort brand. We are already marketing the hotel coast to coast. I’ve been around gaming a long time. One thing that has disappeared over the last couple decades is the intimacy of the gaming experience. You have to create respites for people.

Despite the missing comps, this strategy just might work out.
