Midweek Meal Deals Up For Grabs

If you have been following the news, you would know that casinos are not in a good way at the moment. The thing is, casinos are part of the entertainment industry and during tough times it is the entertainment sector that is cut off first. I guess that is why a lot of casinos these days are looking to attract more customers and they are exerting more of an effort.

In fact, they are offering more perks to people who come to their premises. Take this casino in Atlantic City:

The Tropicana Casino and Resort is the latest gaming hall to unveil a discounted three-course dinner in its gourmet rooms on weeknights. For $35, plus tax and tip, diners get a salad, an entree and dessert at Wellington’s Steak & Seafood (Wednesdays and Thursdays) or Il Verde Italian restaurant (Sunday through Tuesday).

Most of the entrees are priced at $30 to $34 on the regular menus, the salads go for $10 to $15 and the desserts are $10. So people willing to come to the casinos during the week get a full-course dinner for about the price of a main dish. There are several items to choose from in each course.

“We wanted everyone to enjoy a high-end meal at a reasonable price,” said Al Maiorani Jr., senior vice president of resort operations at the Tropicana, adding the house doesn’t make any money off this deal. “We know how tough the economy is right now.”

The specials also introduce people to the hotel’s gourmet rooms, where it can be hard to get a reservation on a Friday or Saturday night, and to the property as a whole, Maiorani said.

The Tropicana Casino and Resort is not the only casino offering these specials these days. If I were you, I would check out what is on offer in the casinos near your place.
