McCain Loves Casinos?

The name McCain (along with Obama and Palin) has been a household name ever since the activities for this year’s elections started. I don’t know if you have ever heard of this but it has been said that McCain has always been a lifelong gambler. Apparently, he is often seen “throwing around $100 chips” at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. If you frequent this casino and you have not seen a shadow of McCain, is it probably because of the fact that he only plays in a special room reserved for high rollers.
His association with the gambling industry has a long history as well. According to Top News US Edition, in his 25 years in the Congress, McCain has been active in shaping the laws with regard to gambling and casinos. The article expounds:
According to an examination based on more than 70 interviews and thousands of pages of documents, factions of the industry feel that it is advantageous to cultivate a relationship with Mr. McCain or hire someone who knows him.
Although McCain tries to paint a picture of himself as being above the influence of ‘special interests’ in his current campaign, he has more than 40 fund-raisers and top advisors who have either lobbied for or worked for gambling interests, including tribal and Las Vegas casinos, lottery companies and on-line poker dealers. Reacting to questions in this regard, McCain’s campaign staff said he was “justifiably proud” of his record on Indian gambling.
I do not have enough information to verify the details presented in the article but I know that this kind of news is sure to influence how people view McCain’s candidacy. How does it affect your point of view?
