Breeders’ Cup Coming Up!

It’s about that time when horse racing enthusiasts go gaga over one of the biggest events in horse racing. On the 24th and 25th of this month, the Breeders’ Cup World Championships is going to be held at the Santa Anita Park. Breeders’ Cup betting is something that has never failed to excite horse racing enthusiasts and this year should be no different.

If you are lucky enough to be located somewhere near Santa Anita Park, you can actually go and bet on the races live. However, if you do not have the means to be physically present at the races, you can still monitor them and even bet on the Breeders’ Cup online. There are countless web sites wherein you can place your bets for the races.

Here are some of the high profile races that are going to be held at the 2008 Breeders’ Cup:

-Sentient Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint on the 24th of October at 3:35 pm
-Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on the 24th of October at 4:15 pm
-Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on the 24th of October at 4:55 pm

For the full schedule of races, you can visit the Breeders’ Cup web site.

Just a quick background on the Breeders’ Cup – it started in 1984 and from that year to 2006, the event was a single day event. It was only in 2007 that that the event was held for 2 days. Every year, the location of the races is changed and all except one has been in the United States.

While it’s still several days before the event starts, I suggest checking the races and horses already if you’re planning on betting on the races.
